Purcellville, VA, March 8, 2013 - On Friday, March 8, 2013, Endless Summer Harvest hosted L’Academie de Cuisine students from Gaithersburg, MD. Chef Instructor Brian Patterson brought his 14 culinary students for an educational tour of hydroponic growing techniques so that they could learn about local food sourcing. “Endless Summer Harvest hopes to inspire culinary students who will be the next generation of executive chefs. These are the chefs who will help preserve the small specialty niche farm that is growing high value, high quality produce,” says Mary Ellen Taylor, Endless Summer Harvest President. After touring Endless Summer Harvest, the students enjoyed an Endless Summer Harvest salad at Magnolia’s Restaurant in Purcellville which was then followed by a tour of Catoctin Creek Distillery.

Endless Summer Harvest at U.S. State Department Culinary Initiative Local Diplomatic Partnership
Purcellville, VA, September 8, 2012 - Mary Ellen Taylor, president and owner of Endless Summer Harvest, attended the Diplomatic Culinary Partnership Initiative at the U.S. Department of State on Friday, September 7, 2012. Endless Summer Harvest was asked to provide numerous lettuce bouquet centerpieces of varying sizes. Ambassador Capricia Penavic Marshall, Chief of Protocol and Ms. Susan Ungaro, President of the James Beard Foundation hosted the reception to celebrate the launch of the initiative and announce the partnership between the U.S. Department of State and the James Beard Foundation.
The Diplomatic Culinary Partnerships Initiative builds on Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s vision of “smart power” diplomacy, which embraces the use of a full range of diplomatic tools, by utilizing food, hospitality and the dining experience as ways to enhance how formal diplomacy is conducted, cultivating cultural understanding and strengthening bilateral relationships through the shared experience of food.
The objectives of the Diplomatic Culinary Partnership Initiative are to enhance formal diplomacy by elevating the quality of food preparation, presentation and service at official U.S. State Department functions through the use of public-private partnerships with renowned chefs and other resources from the culinary field; cultivate cultural understanding by sharing the American culinary culture abroad and with visiting dignitaries at home and using food as a foundation for public diplomacy programs to learn about different cultures and discuss important related issues such as nutrition, sustainability and food security; and strengthen bilateral relationships by using food and the dining experience in a thoughtful and purposeful way to engage dignitaries, further dialogue and reinforce diplomatic messages.

Botwana Representatives Visit Endless Summer Harvest
Purcellville, VA. January 19, 2012 - This past Tuesday, Endless Summer Harvest hosted international guests from Botswana, Africa, on an educational tour of the hydroponic greenhouses.
